Info: The tour will last approximately 2 hours. In addition to seeing purple prairie clover, pinnate prairie cone-flowers, standing cypress, scaly blazing star and compass plants, you will also get a chance to learn about the unique geologic setting that provides a foundation for Black Land Prairies as well as the periodic fires that are essential for rejuvenating the flora they support. If you are interested in bird watching, be sure to bring your binoculars for a chance to see fledgling bluebirds, grasshopper sparrows, and Northern harriers.
