Info: From progress and pistol-toting to cooperative farming and city sanitation, Dallas County residents, black and white, had plenty to debate about during the 1920s. Karlyn Forner is a graduate student at Duke University and is writing her dissertation about Selma’s history throughout the twentieth century. She has been conducting research using old issues of The Selma Times-Journal from the first half of the century and will present pieces of her findings in this public forum. Come and hear a sampling of the issues that captured local citizen’s time and attention in the decade between the Great War and the Great Depression.
