The Black Heritage Council is the only statewide organization whose sole mission is the documentation, preservation and promotion of the state’s African American historic places. Since 1984, the Council has worked with many diverse communities throughout the state including Selma, Hobson City and Tuskegee to bring resources and information that will assist them with preserving their unique sense of place.
