The Face in the Courthouse Window

Don’t miss the 2011 performance of "The Face In The Courthouse Window" at the Historic Pickens County Courthouse in Carrollton, Ala., just steps from where Henry Wells was standing when lightning struck on that fateful day. First National Bank of Central Alabama will present the Barry Bradford production.

Striving to rebuild its shattered economy, plagued by fear of Northern domination by carpetbaggers and opportunists, shackled by prejudice, the Old South fights to reassert its authority as former slaves breathe the air of freedom for the first time. The Face in the Courthouse Window reveals this violent and troubled world in which a black man named Henry Wells struggles to survive, and asks the question, “How far does a man have to go to save his family and make his mark in the world?”

All proceeds will benefit the Pickens County Courthouse Preservation Foundation, dedicated to the preservation of this historic landmark.
